| What sits on the slate | Why Ruddock keeps it | How long it stays chalked up |
|---|---|---|
| Nickname | The name Ruddock calls you by in the maze | Chalked up until you delete the account |
| Email address | Spotting your gate key when you log back in | Chalked up until you delete the account |
| Password hash | Letting you through the gate without the maze ever holding your password | Chalked up until you delete the account |
| Sign-up date | Answering support notes and stopping misuse in the maze | Chalked up until you delete the account |
Ruddock’s slate stops there. The maze never asks for your real name, your home address, your date of birth, a phone number or any payment detail, because no path here leads to a till. Your password sits on the slate only as a one-way hash. Lawful basis: performance of a contract (providing the account you requested). Deleting your account wipes the whole slate clean at once, and the button for that waits on your account page.
| What sits on the slate | Why your browser holds it for the maze | How long it stays chalked up |
|---|---|---|
| Coins, level, missions and settings for each corner of the maze | Letting you pick up the walk where you left it | Held until you clear your browser data |
| Age confirmation | So the age question is not put at every hedge gap | Held until you clear your browser data |
| Cookie choice | Remembering your answer about cookies at the gate | Held until you clear your browser data |
This stays in your own browser, on your side of the hedge, and is never sent to us.
Choose “Accept all” and Google Analytics and Google Ads tags begin measuring visits to the maze and whether our adverts lead people to the reels, for instance that a first spin took place under the roses. Google receives your IP address, device information and those events. Choose “Essential only” and those same tags run in consent mode, setting no cookies and using no advertising identifiers. Lawful basis: consent.
For security, the company hosting the maze holds ordinary request logs for a short time before clearing them. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
Whenever you like, you may access, correct or erase your data, restrict its processing or object to it, and withdraw your consent. The delete button on the account page wipes the gate-key data at once; clearing this site’s data in your browser sweeps up whatever is left on your side of the hedge. Complaints can go to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Yew Walk Maze admits adults aged 18 or over and no one younger. The reels turn on virtual coins with no monetary value, coins that nobody can buy, sell, withdraw or exchange. No path in the maze leads to a coin shop or a payment page, no prize of real-world value is put up, and success here does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
